What we collect
Saving a food's shelf life currently stores it only in your browser. When email reminders launch, subscribing will collect the email address, food item, locale, and reminder date you submit.
FoodLasts uses Google Analytics and first-party RUM performance metrics sent to /api/vitals. We may process technical data such as device type, browser, language, approximate location, visited pages, interaction events, performance timings, and technical logs.
Contact form
When you send a message through our contact form, we collect the name, email address, message, and the page URL you submitted from. The form is protected by Cloudflare Turnstile (bot prevention) and delivered through a shared Cloudflare Worker to our inbox.
This information is used only to read and answer your message. It is not used for marketing and is not sold.
How we use it
- Send expiry reminders for foods you've chosen to track (once email reminders are available).
- Improve search, content, navigation, and page quality using aggregate usage signals.
- Measure UX, performance, security, and stability so the site stays fast and reliable.
What we don't do
We do not sell personal data. We do not run payment processing or user accounts on the site today. We do not use advertising cookies in the current launch.
We share data only with service providers needed to operate the site, such as analytics, hosting, and security.
Browser storage and cookies
Saved-list data stays in your browser. The privacy notice dismissal is also stored locally in your browser.
Google Analytics and site metrics may use cookies or browser storage to recognize usage patterns and measure whether pages work well.
Control
You can clear local browser storage or cookies in your browser settings. Reminder emails, when enabled, include an unsubscribe path for the specific saved-food reminder.
