About FoodLasts
FoodLasts is a practical food shelf-life reference for quickly checking how long common foods last in the fridge, freezer, or pantry.
What FoodLasts does
The site turns food-storage guidance into short, scannable pages with storage windows, spoilage cues, safety notes, and links to related foods. It is designed for quick decisions at home, not for replacing professional food-safety advice.
How the information is built
Storage guidance is based on sources such as USDA FoodKeeper, USDA FSIS, FDA food-storage references, and original editorial explanations where a source needs plain-language context. See the methodology and editorial policy for how pages are sourced, checked, and updated.
Languages
FoodLasts currently supports English, Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, and French. During the first localization window, non-English pages are generated through a controlled robot translation workflow with automated QA; human/native review is queued after that initial period by traffic and risk.
